Crab Park - EastSide Vancouver Photo

Photographer’s Note

I thought i would try to get in at least one more Autumn scenic photo before it was too late.

Taken this morning from Crab Park at Portside, downtown Vancouver just off of Waterfront rd.

Its great to go out and seek photo's, as i completely forgot about this area of Vancouver, and what views it has to offer.

This paticular area is in East Vancouver, usually not known for its spectacular views, but more so for its Drug Scene and low income housing projects.
Hopefully this will help remind us who live in Vancouver, that the East side can be just as beautiful as the West Side.

malheureusement je ne connais pas Vancouver mais d'après ce que je vois de cette photo il semble que se soit une très belle ville avec tous ces buildings en arrière plan et de cette belle plage

dear Craig,
a beautiful autumnal cityscape,
lighted buildings and red trees in the shadow make very atmospheric scene,
the mild curve of beach is graceful and it is well contrasted back square buildings.
the sky and the water are nicely combined in this view,

Lovely fall color. This image has lots strong composition elements. What attract me the most is the capture of the perfect lighting condition. The light is low enough to give buildings golden tone, yet bright enough give color of trees, grass and sky.

I haven't heard of this park before but it has a fantastic view. Great find, as I haven't seen anyone else post this before. Great lighting displayed on the cityscape. Good DOF, as your picture is clear throughout. Superb composition! Pretty soft autumn colours. Vancouver is sure beautiful. Great shot.

Beautiful shot o fthe skyline with the color of autumn in its peak it seems. The wonderful thing about living in the place with 4 distinct seasons. lovely golden light to complement the colors of the turning leaves. Beautiful composition, Sharnpess is tiny bit soft, but adequate. I think the frame is a bit too bold. I find it a bit distracting for my taste.

one beautiful Autumn scene from this area of the city.I like the sense and the smell of the Autumn with the colours of the trees to be so impressive.These changes of the colours from the trees there are not exists in Greece.The warm light of the morning, falling on the buildings, as the park too, make the scene so great.Well done.

You have a good POV in that you included a strong curve in the shoreline and those rocks for FG interest. I must admit I don't think I have seen any shots of this park on TE before.

Hi Craig,

The reflections on the water and the curve of the beach are assets to the composition. The point of view leads my etyes toward the highrise building of downtown Vancouver which is giving depth to the photo. The morning light is enhancing the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

The curve of cool, blue water contrasts nice with the golden building reflecting the rapidly fading light. Very nice composition.
