Photographer’s Note
This is a close up of a window of the condemned barn I photographed last week. I like the simplicity of it. I guess you can say this is my first attempt at minimalism. Not much post processing done, just a wee bit of colour. Sorry I don't know any history behind this barn, but it looks like it was a family owned business at one time.
Hope you like it,
Tosca

Hello Tosca,
It's a sad sight in a way, but yet I enjoy this broken window and the weather-bitten roof. I also enjoy the murky colors with their fine nuances of grey and green.

Simply beautiful, beautifully simple - nice framing and the tones and textures are brilliant, what a gorgeous image of aging.

Bonsoir Tosca
j'aime bien toutes ces teintes de vert qui couvrent ces bardeaux, toute simple mais de toute beauté cette fenêtre.

Hi Tosca,
I like the mood here and the bits of green as well. They really stand out against those dark tiles. The placement of the window is adequate too. Very moody. I like that.

Hi Tosca
Well done for your first attempt. The window is well placed at the upper right intersection using the rule of thirds. The textures and tones of the wood show well. We know what has happened to this old barn without any explanation.

Morning Tosca :)
I see this is your first attempt at minimalism. Foscusing in on one subject, especially an old dilapatated one like this, tends to evoke emotions and mood. The viewer is put into a thoughtful place of mind, usually one of relfection.
For this scene, you can't help but relfect on what this barn used to be, and how now its importance has diminished. When you can evoke thoughts and feelings form a photo, you know you've done well.
Great photo
have fun at work

Hello, Tosca!
Very nice detail shown of this window on the roof, which I always find very interesting! The simplicity of the composition is what makes it really great! Very good job!

Hi Tosca,
For a first attempt you did well. The window is well positionned, not too much color, just what is needed.
I like ruins,we can imagine those who lived there what was their life, why are they gone ... Last summer I spent time photographing abandoned villages. It was a real travel in the past.

Bonjour Tosca.
J'aime beaucoup ce cadrage serré sur ce vieux toit en bardeaux.
Le graphisme et les couleurs sont superbes. j'ai tenté un WS pour éclaircir et donner plus de peps à l'ensemble.
Bonne journée !
Amical salut !

dear Tosca,
this ruined feeling is very tasteful for my eyes and soul.
the story may be imagined by each body,
old broken figure and dim colors are telling about long time,
a beautiful shot, thank you,

Coming onto website like this, you are often confronted with images that don't quite live up to the expectations of their thumbnails. Not this photograph, however, as it is as clear an evocative as I would want it to be.
Thank you for sharing.

Salut Tosca,
Beautiful close up. Your first attempt at minimalism is successful.
I like the graphics and the matter with old wood affected by the humidity.
Beautiful atmosphere at the same time sinister and disturbing.
Have a nice We
Diane
