Daddy...Daddy! I can see HIM !
The girl sitting on her dad's shoulders was eagerly anticipating among thousands of spectators, the first glimpse of Santa Claus coming to town on December 6-th.
Simply: Canadians !
One of my absolutely brilliant thoughts about the photography:
Have you noticed, folks…?
By photographing children you can call yourself a photographer without being one ???

A very nice contrasty image, George - great expression on her face - really good color - it's a good image - I love the grain.
best wishes Kev
I like the atmosphere, grainy, dark, but the girl is high lighted in the frame. I like her face expression as well. Very, very nice shot.
Bardzo ladnie Jurku.
Widze ze czujesz sie znakimicie z anaologowym aparatem, i ze ci to odpowiada. Myslales kiedys o cyfrowce?
Perfect portrait this is. I do love the background which seems somehow grainy. Very well done.
Beautiful girl, excellent compoced, I do like here obstinacy pose, the strong light and contrast in photo.
George excellent capture here of this girl. I see a little grain from the 400 ISO but I tell you the lighting in this frame is excellent. Very well done!
Your portraits become a trademark in the TE landscape :) Some look! Great Expectations =)
You have an interesting gallery, I like the way you look at people, finding interest in all of them, even the simpler ones. Good capture of this young girl here, the attitude is one of anticipation but also of pride, head high, eyes strong, she seems to know what she wants.
The depth of field is good to isolate her among the crowd, but the contrast between her face and the bright white spot behind her is a bit strong.
Keep up the good work, I'm really interested in what you are showing.
You captured a great expression of this little girl, I like the grain it makes the picture more special than without it.
Ciekawy portrecik znalaz³em buszujac po Twoim PF. Piêkny kadr, z dobrze dobrana glêbie, delikatny szum, super kolor. Pozdrawiam, Krzysztof
She looks great, George, and string, very strong. The nostrils spread out, the head up high, and the determined expression on the face, all very strong. Very nice portrait!
He never showed up in the India I guess, any of the dec., I have been there. I never saw even a hint of him. Vietnam had santas all over the place, when I spent xmas there.

But what a proud face, George! And what a great, strong expression! This baby will be a wonderful, great, strong woman. As your great, strong, clever photo. You always are able to catch the right face in the right, perfect moment. Bravissimo, sai?

Tego nie komentowalam, bo to bylo jeszcze przed moim "urodzeniem". Tym bardziej jestem zadowolona, ze wstawiasz "stary" a dla mnie "nowy" material.
Ona jest boska. Jej wyraz twarzy !!! Ja, miss X, ja jestem wielka i niezalezna !!! Ta glowka uniesiona do gory lekko...
Piekny bookeh tyz, i ona, oczywiscie.
Taki maly rarytasik.

Oh, Saint Nicolas (or Santa Klaus) is also celebrated on Dec. 6th in Canada, like in Belgium !
Splendid expression on her face, lovely girl (and great bokeh).
I think that this photo deserves more success. 14 critiques last time, not much yet... Hopefully more will come later !
I love these portraits with special expressions, this one tells a whole story really !

Hey, George, you stole my title!
Oh wait, I guess you had it first on 3/11/06. OK, you're forgiven.
Nice to see you are continuing to steadily restore your wonderful archive. And I get to comment twice on the same photo! Must be a lot of work for you I'm sure, reposting hundreds of photos.
It's true you can get cheap "awwww" points by posting photographs of kids but this one has great light and a wonderful haughty expression, both emphasized by the shallow DOF. So you earned the smiley points for real, don't doubt yourself.
Have a great day, regards, Ken.

So beautiful is your shot! I don't mean only the kid who is fantastic. But the background, all those colors mingling like if it was a painting or a dance. Nice my friend... nice!
Have a beautiful day.
