Photographer’s Note
Visiting my own country was on my wish-list since ever, but attraction for more exotic destinations was always putting this project on the back burner. Although I am familiar with Toronto and Vancouver, discovering the Prairies, the Rockies and everything in between was a really nice experience, and being with Wanda have made it unforgettable.
We were alone at Moraine Lake that morning, just after a fresh snowfall had covered the area with a delicate white layer; we felt it was the most majestic and peaceful place on Earth, at least at 5h00 in the morning...
The beauty of doing landscape photography is that there is never identical light and weather conditions from one time to another, but although I was there in 4 different occasions, the best moment was that first one, where clouds were creating theatrical curtains, opening up to show the famous mountains peak.
Since there is already a lot of images from Moraine Lake on TE and everywhere else, I did a panoramic photo out of 7 vertical frames, showing a 180° view of the surrounding.
As a large format would have been more appropriate to show details, my document was ready to be uploaded, but I forgot the prescribed dimensions to respect on the small version in the first place and it's now too late to do it. Sorry guys...

Hello,
It's a very beautiful picture. When I watched it I was really impressed. The left side with the mountains and snow and the right with the forest and the white clouds make this photo special.
Thank you and good job

Amicalement,
Marianne

Hello André,
The panoramic view must have been superb, but so is this smaller view already. A superb landscape photo, bright and sharp, with the massive clouds indicating that sunny weather is not a given...

Paul

Il va me manquer !!

Hello Andre,
One can not tell at all that the photo's are stiched togeher it is seamles.
Our few hour wait was worth the effort as the light came out quite nicely illuminating some of the green trees and hitting the peaks, and also giving the shot a nice crisp and clear impression.
I like the soft blurred reflections on the turquoisy water and also the clouds add a bit of drama and texture instead of just a plain blue sky. You really got a nice wide panoramic.
Hugs

Jeff

Andre, you made it! I was wondering when we'd get to see your take on the Canadian Rockies. This is a really nice one, and I say good for you for not just posting another Moraine Lake shot. Looks like you got here shortly after the lake thawed. I've never been in June. I hear it's cold (it's definitely cold in May). Beautiful light and detail here. This would have been even better had it been taken at sunrise, but then again that would have been back to the cliche. Nice job.

And hi again, Andre.
Congratulations for this photo... I've seen this photo and I thought it had to be stitched and I was right.
This one is a great and very nice work.

Hello Andre
Its a shame on my part that I had not checked your gallery for quite a while! What a place here & a flawless stitching job to create this wonderful panoramic view. I admit having seeing pictures of Moraine Lake in TE, but I guess this is the first pano shot I'm seeing! Exposure particularly on the snow capped mountains in the BG would not have been easy & that too for 7 shots, but as always you've done a perfect job! And to top up this wonderful view you had the company of the lovely lady as well. Great shot my friend!
Best Regards
Angshu

Yves.

Hi Andre.
I just looked at Wanda's shot. Yours is equally spectacular. Incredible sharpness and wonderful exposure of the snow and the water. What superb scenery this is, captured at the most dramatic moment as the clouds lifted and separated. Great work.
Regards,
Andrew
