Photographer’s Note

The 23-metre Athabasca Falls is not very high by Canadian Rockies standards, but the size of the river makes it one of the most powerful falls to be found in the mountain national parks.

Pouring over a layer of hard quartzite, the falls have cut into the softer limestone beneath, carving intricate features, including potholes and a short canyon.

Magnicicent place with those falls, the vegetation and the might mountains in the bg!
Sharpness, exposure, dof and colors are all excellent!
The pov and the vertical format couldn't be better choices! The composition is effective and attractive!

another great scenic shot of yours to add to your gallery.
the sharpness can be clearly seen all the way to the top of the mountains, seeing the individual formation lines.
you've also managed to appropriately expose the shadows and bright lighted ares.

Et nous avions hésité entre cette région et l'ouest USA pendant le même mois. C'est trop beau et il faut qu'un jour on y aille. T'as bien géré cette lumière si difficile.

Bonjour, André. La chute est bien délimitée par les rochers qui la bordent et qui guident le regard vers le haut. Les contrastes entre la végétation et les rochers fonctionnent bien.Le sommet à l'arrière-plan se détachent bien sur le ciel. Une image bien exposée à tous les niveaux.

Hello André,

Un paysage, effectivement plein de puissance, que j'aurais aimé saisir. J'aime beaucoup ici, l'opposition forcée de cette montagne au dessus de cette gorge. Cela donne tout son sens à l'image et laisse imaginer d'ou vient cette eau rugissante.
