Photographer's Note
Eventually I will finish posting photos of snow, but until then my addiction to capture this white stuff remains. This is my second posting from the side of Mt Washington from last weekend.
I did try to snow shoe up here to take photos with my wide angle lens, and found it a challenge. Try climbing a 45 degree slope in snow waist deep in snow shoes that keep sliding downhill. You only trek a short distance and your lungs have had it. Man is much better designed to descend snow slopes on skis or board.
I only climbed up here because I love the outdoors, good exercise, and to capture good results. Enjoy.

Hi Paul!
I love seeing that up in the mountain in winter!!!! I took lots of those when I was in Bariloche, Argentina, back in 2006 because there was soooooo much snow in the mountains! Didn't get any picture as good as this one! I love all the shapes, textures and balance between light and shadow! Wonderful!
TFS - congrats,
Cheers,

Hi Paul,
It is nice to see these lovely ice sculptures carved by nature and I also like how the long shadows somewhat hold and bind them together in one harmonious composition. The good lighting control also brought out their interesting forms. Well done!!
Best Regards.

Hi Paul
I am not fed up of your snow pictures, so different with the amount of snow on these trees in the unspoilt nature.
Kind regards

hi paul
coming from sunny queensland, australia, i have no idea how hard it is to climb a mountain in waist-deep snow. but i can certainly appreciate the effort and photos such a trek produces.
must be difficult not to blow out the whites with snow photos and you have done an excellent job here. i like the shapes the fallen snow has produced. it really looks like powder. looking forward to more snow fun. thanks

Hi Paul
i see that this haul resulted in some good photos for you. i think i've mentioned to you before, that i try to stay away from shooting snow, as its so easy to over expose, and there tends to be tons of glare from all angles.
so i'm impressed with your exposure levels, it looks great.
see you around!

Hello Paul,
I have been admiring your portfolio. Of your three latest uploads I couldn't decide whiich I liked best (beacuse I like them all for different reasons). This one I like because of the mysterious forms and shadows with no real sense of scale. Technically - I must admire the way you expose your snow pictures and keep detail in the bright areas.

Hi Paul,
I've never seen fresh snow covering trees to this depth. It is absolutely smothered. It almost seems here as if the scene is some sort of surreal painting. I like the contrasting bands of light and dark within this scene. It is astonishing to think that these organisms can be clad in ice like this for long periods and then regenerate come spring. Supreme sharpness and attention to the smaller details, like the pattern on the snow drift at centre. TFS Paul.

Hello Paul,
This is one of beautiful winter nature, so it's interesting and impressive to see the snowy slope of a mountain and trees covered thick snow. And, some belts of shadow projected to the slope draw out artistic effect in this image, too. Well captured with a good frame and excellent tone/clarity.
Have a nice weekend!
Kind regards,
mikio
