Photographer's Note

Medicine lake in Jasper National park, Alberta, Canada.
The uniqueness of this lake is that it does exist only during spring and summer seasons, but completely disappear during fall and winter months.
The secret is simple-during spring and summer months the lake is being fed by excessive amounts of melted water from glacier and sinkhole at the bottom of the lake cannot keep up draining these volumes to the underground. At fall and winter amount of melted water reduced significantly and allowed to drain all lake water. Again the underground waters shows 16km downstream in Maligne Canyon.
