Happy National Day, Canada!

| [Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe |
July 1st is National Day in Canada, so it seemed appropriate to dig up a photo I took there, in honor of our neighbor to the north.
In a park next to the Royal BC Museum (which we had planned to visit, except we ended up spending too much time with friends) there is a collection of totem poles carved by members of the First Nations (the "Indians" current name for themselves in Canada; calling them "Native Americans" raises other issues). This is a close-up of one of them.
Technical: In RAW, WB to daylight, exp -0.30, Recovery 55, Blacks 0, Contrast +46, Vibrance +43. In CS3, minor crop, Smart Sharpen at 100% (lens blur), Shadow / Highlights - reduce Highlights 23%. Framed. |

Olá Daniel,
I like of the framework and the composition you made.
Júlio JArdim
Ciao Daniel,
Júlio is right: great composition and stunning crop, the colors also are vivid and beautiful. Perhaps it's a bit out of focus, or maybe it's the re-dimensioning?
Laura
Hello Dan,
First, thank you for pointing out my mistake — June, July... they both start with "J" — I made the correction in my data.
This good detail shot must have been produced when you were on your Pacific Northwest sojourn. The colors are vivid, and I believe the focus is adequate. You could make it more dramatic by increasing the color saturation and the contrast, but this is what these totem poles look like after weathering for awhile.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Thank you, fantastic photo (even for new Canadians). It really quickens our heartbeat a bit. Good for the day!
Greetings from Canada,... of course.
Chris
PS. I love your shot!
