Another shot (pardon the pun) from yesterday's Brigade Days at Fort Langley where we celebrated B.C.'s 150th birthday. These fellows were demonstrating the flintlock rifles from the 1800's. A good rifleman could get off three rounds a minute as it took twenty seconds to load the powder and musket ball. A far cry from today.

Dear Phil,
Superb timing , the noise should be very disturbing , everybody close their ears :)
An interesting composition with fantastic vivid colors.
Congrats,
Zeynep

Excellent shot; something very different from the norm. You had the perfect POV so the three marksmen are lined diagonally. I like the details such as the powder horn. You managed to blur the people in the background by your choice of DOF, but we can still see them holding their ears. Excellent timing as the rifles go off. Did you manage to get someone to hold your ears? ;D

A good shot, Phil :). I like much the picture for the moment that you decided to freeze (one can feel the concentration of the shooters) but mostly I like it for the smoke - I love what that smoke brings to this scene.
Very well done!

Hi Phil
Nice action shot with good use of f/3.5 which its blurred background became very interesting and attractive. You captured well men's expressions and his concentration in that moment. Good job! I've enjoyed a lot. Best regards, Consuelo

Very nice pov and good sharp detail and color. Such an interesting day you must have had!! I especially like how the smoke is rising. TFS

Hi, Phil -

Yes, this is similar to my Harper's Ferry shot! GMTA!

Nice that you got them lined up like this, and managed to capture the smoke, too.

Best,
Dan

Hi Phil,
An excellent attention grabbing action shot for sure. Great details and the drama of the moment can be felt - a great BC celebration. TFS. Gerald

Hi Phil,
Excellent historic capture of these three riflemen thaat are seen in wonderful clear colors and focus.
The standout very well against the muted background as they create a dramatic bit of smoke.
Regards, Tom
