Photographer’s Note

This photograph was taken on one of my many trips to the park . It was a very sunny , warm day and this statue called "the Fighting Newfoundlander"is a reminder of our commitment to the war .
In fact our financial burden , due to our commitment to the war , nearly bankrupt our country . As a result , they were eventually given a choice to join Canada which we did by the narrowest of margins .
Many Newfoundland lives were lost overseas and I always give thanks to the brave men and women who served ,when I see this statue .
Thank you for the prices gift of freedom !
This photograph was level adjusted , cropped , framed , and saved for the web .
