Photographer's Note

The church of El Carmen, located in the historic centre, was built from 1749 to 1764 in Baroque style, in the same place where there were two small churches, one built in 1592 and the other built in 1596. Originally a convent complex belonging to the order of the Carmelitas Descalzos, now the former convent area, close to the church, houses the Museo del Virreinato.
