If you get there early enough in the day you can avoid the crowds and tour the city in relative solitude. However, to get around the entire city and take it all in requires a longer amount of time. This makes avoiding the crowds nearly impossible and shots of the monument are no longer isolated.
The people you encounter are from all over the world, tour guides speaking a multitude of languages. One thing they all have in common is their admiration and awe of the structures that the Mayans constructed years ago. The tours pause momentarily and as one huge mob they try to capture the monument in all its grandeur. |
