Photographer's Note

Going from the Cold White North of Lofoten to the hot dry days in Abu Dhabi.

I have to say, that in all of my travels up to this point, the Sheikh Zayed Mosque is without question in my all time top 3 architectural delights.
The other being the Taj Mahal in India...and i'm still waiting for number 3. I wonder what that will be!

Not sure how many of your out there have been to this Mosque, but its very hard to get to. Its not like its right downtown in the city center, its a bit away travel wise. And with the heat in the city, its not really the place where you want to just walk to either.

I say that because you have to arrange transportation back and forth to get here. Taxi is probably the best way, and I find most people that visit the Mosque come from Dubai, not Abu Dhabi where its located. That alone is a 2 hour taxi drive in total. So as you can see, its not easy to get here, if it WERE easy, I would have stayed ALL DAY LONG taking photos!!!! Its just that beautiful.

You know its something special when you're taking photos, all you want to do is put the camera down, look around and go sigh...The Taj Mahal has the same effect.

There are a few water reflection areas around the Mosque as well, which of course is a must for photographers. Here I captured a lone worker sweeping and cleaning up, and he's slowly walking his way through the arches.

I have about 20 of these I could post! haha
So many photos, so little time. What is a man to do?

Hope you like it
