Photographer's Note
This is Donegal Bay in Ireland's north-west. One of the things I love best about Donegal is its rugged coastlines and unspoilt land and seascapes. There is a true sense of being in the wilderness here.

buona giornata...

Hi Lisa
Oh man, i'm sure if i showed this photo to Tosca she'd be all over it..its her kind of scene for sure.
you guys have the same taste in photography.
She's always trying to drag me out to photograph rocks and landscapes and beaches lol
but i have to admitt, i like the contrast in darkness and the lighted areas, and the reflected clouds, its a nice one :)
I also have to admitt i'm a bit TE'd out again....Its a catch 22...i dont' feel like doing many critiques, but when i don't do them i feel left out...what's a man to do!
I may not be critiquing, but i'm still looking.
enjoy the day!
see ya

Hello Lisa,
I have never been to Donegal but this picture inspires me to go there. The sense of wilderness that you mention comes over well in the image. Lovely colours and shapes in the landscape. Beautiful!

Ciao Lisa,
clever your title with the dark layers of the ground to enhance the sunset colours of the sky as the reflections too.I like the excellent light and colour management,as the dreamily and romantic scenery.Good work.

Hi Lisa
Looks like the Irish coffee is missing a little whiskey, what?
The sky has been exposed just right, and the underexposed foreground sure adds a nice touch. I hope you had a nice time trekking through the wilderness!

Ciao Lisa,
Well done!

P.S.

Excellent weekend.
Daniel.

Hello Lisa - An image of an almost abstract beauty. Colour and tone are the key and here you have them beautifully balanced. A magical atmosphere and an image to wallow in! Warm regards and have a great weekend Rosemary
PS. I love the title but as an alternative suggest Neapolitan Ice Cream ;-)

Hi Lisa,
Compo. is in exquisit management, as the tight crop horizontaly leave much space to see the imaginary "coffe" you titled.
Layers of reflections with silhouettes mingled marvelously.
Cheers, buona sabato,

hi lisa,
this is stunning. the strong silhouetted areas create the frame on which you have 'painted' some incredible pastel colours. its a beautiful pale sky with fantastic subtle tones from cream to pink. the reflection in the water are equally impressive as a result of the water which is so calm and still it looks like glass. it is a beautiful composition with the foreground and headlands perfectly placed to draw the viewer along the expanse of water towards the horizon.
i was hoping to go to donegal in a couple of weeks time to climb errigle but think work might scupper that idea. still hoping, especially if i thought i could get some views like this.
have a great weekend,
brian

Hello Lisa,
If you ever go to Donnegal again, for a wonderful experience, you will have to stay in the thatched cottages here where the Atlantic rollers surge and break on the sandy beach below! It is just stunning.
Your photograph, mood wise, is the complete opposite. This is so tranquil and calm. It doesn't surprise me that you see a comparison between this and Irish Coffee, maybe, also, Guinness The patience required to receive a Guinness smacks of calmness.
I love how the colours of the sky are reflected in the still water. You have a lovely repetition of silhouettes and warm colours, in a series of horizontal layers. Beautiful.
Have a lovely w/e,
Bev :-)

Ciao Lisa,
It's lovely to see some of your pictures from the land of your "in-laws" and this is another splendid one!
As Donegal is in the northwest of Ireland, I presume that this is an evening shot of a sunset rather than a sunrise. (Yes, I know that the sun rises in the morning.) The colours and light in the sky and its mirrored reflection on the calm water are enough and we really do not need to see what lies behind the dark shadows in the near and middle ground other than they make a fine framework for those features. Beautiful lighting, perfect exposure, excellent composition and stunning sharpness.
As they famously say in Donegal, "Bellissimo!"
Kind Regards,
Eoin.

Hi Lisa
Atmospheric and romantic feel looking at this shot, it's well managed with excellent perspectives and light display with its reflection in water. The streak of soft red tone in the sky is sensational and good strong silhouettes in the foreground Such a serene moment and well captured the mood nicely. Well done, Congrats
Warm regards

Hi Lisa,
Very beautiful sky. I like the way open water makes a passage between dark silhouettes. Nice windless moments when reflections on water are perfect. You don't reveal the connection to the title, but as this was taken in October I assume the Irish Coffee warmed nicely.
Just like it did on my trip, as there was a few quite chilly days. It was also perfect alternative when I felt that I had temporarily had enough of Guinness.

Ciao cara Diavolina,
Bravissima!
Ciao, buon lunedì e buona settimana!

Hi Lisa
Fantastic graphism & silhouettes, with good sharpness & superb warm cold color contrasts between the blue & orange. Nice symmetrical reflections & judicious cropping. The wide angled view suits. I like the tiny sliver of yellow orange at right. Tfs!

Hola Lisa ...

Hello dear Lisa
The layers work well here...dark, light alternating. The sky with the reddish patch clouds add to the beauty with the pastel pink hues also reflecting in the water. Beautiful serene mood portrayed in this fine shot!

Dia Duit Lisa :)
Beautiful composition on this, and the colour is amazing. This really gives a sense of the ruggedness of Donegal, which is an area I really must get up and visit, as I have seen so little of this wonderful place.
All the best from Ireland; Summer has struck at last here, the rain is so warm and pleasant :)
