Photographer's Note

Life has become very busy and I have had little time to use my camera or to be on TE. Here's another photo from my trip to portugal this fall.
Once again a photo from Furnas in Sao Miguel. The word Furnas itself at one time meant cave or shelter. This is in the Terra Nostra Botanical Park. This little river is also in these photos
Secret Cave, 3 frogs and 4 lillies, and Enchanted Valley.

The botanical garden and the house within it was started by Thomas Hinckling, American Council, in Portugal in the late 1700s. Now there is an hotel adjacent to it, in the middle of the park there's a large pool fed by warm mineral waters.
More information on this enchanted valley can be found by following this link which has video and sounds. of the fumeroles, and geysers. This link also has great scientific data.
