Photographer's Note

So many of the South Islands West Coast beaches are littered with driftwood. Gillespies beach is a particular example - there were HUGE tree trunks all over the beach - it really did resemble a graveyard of these once mighty trees. This trunk in my foreground was around 4 foot tall, just to give you an idea of the scale here.
