I'm not a fan of portraits, but considering that there are many friends on this site who appreciate this kind of images, I thought to create a little serie, starting with the youngest. Pic taken in the village of Iznaga,near Trinidad.

Non sono un amante dei ritratti,ma considerato che ci sono tanti amici su questo sito che apprezzano questo genere di immagini,ho pensato di postarne qualcuna,iniziando dai più giovani. Fotografia scattata nel picolo borgo di Iznaga,nei pressi di Trinidad.

le foto architettoniche sono senza dubbio il tuo forte, ma per essere uno che non ama i ritratti (come me del resto) te la cavi molto bene.

ciao Luciano,
a parte la luce e la solita qualità, mi piace il modo in cui è composto il doppio ritratto che coglie i due bambini in questo loro momento di conversazione.

A good dual head & shoulders portrait of these kids from Cuba. Nice use of a shallow dof with perfect fg sharpness on the children. Nice juxtaposing of a direct front on face with a fully profiled face looking away. Good light contrasts. Tfs!

I won't say I'm not a fan of portraits, it's just that I don't often do them. But, occasionally, the opportunity is too good to miss; this could possibly be one of those occasions.
There is no posing, just a really true expression from this delightful youngster. the lighting on his face creates the most subtle of shadows and highlights.
The turned head makes an irresistible lead to the focal face.

Peu importe ce que les gens disent sur les conditions de vue à Cuba, je n'ai jamais vu des enfants avoir l'air aussi heureux et en bonne santé que dans ce pays.

È proprio questa foto la dimostrazione che "la ritrattistica" è un aspetto molto bello della fotografia, perchè spesso, come in questo caso, l'immagine provoca emozione.
Insomma, se non l'avessi capito, ti sto facendo i miei complimenti per quello che ritengo essere un gran ritratto, e tu sai quanto amo il genere.

You might not be a fan of portraits, but this picture shows that you are very good at capturing them!

This is a beautiful and amazingly clear and sharp portrait of two boys very well taken as they have a little discussion between themselves. I wonder what they are talking about? The lighting is perfect as are the colours and composition. Even the blue pole is not a distraction as our eyes are immediately drawn to the face and eyes of the principal subject on the left.

hai fatto proprio bene a postare questo ritratto dato che a me piacciono molto! :)
Noto che i bambini erano in realtà 3! Uno si è nascosto alla tua vista ehehe!! Ma gli altri 2 li hai 'catturati' magnificamente (quella canottiera bianca non era facile!)

Hey Luciano,
This is not bad for a starter! Maybe you get to like portraits it is all about going a bit deeper that what meets the eye (lens!). If I were you I would concentrate on the boy looking towards the camera and somehow crop out the one who is looking away. This photo is about "you" and the boy looking at the camera not the other one, he has no role to play in this photo.

Very good sharpness and natural colours.
