Photographer's Note

The district of Kazimierz in Krakow holds a lot of history. It is a shame that many of these historic buildings with their unique architecture sit abandoned and largely in ruins. Being a primarily Jewish area, these buildings were abandoned during the Second World War, and the streets reveal haunting memories of this. Only recently has there been a movement to restore this area, and this is due in part to the annual Jewish Cultural Festival that has taken place here since 1988.
