Cupid in San Francisco

To bring some love with my first post in 2018, here’s a photo of Cupid in San Francisco.

This large bow and arrow is an outdoor sculpture Rincon Park along the Embarcadero. It’s called Cupid’s Span and was made by married artists Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. It was installed in 2002.

The background features one of the 160-metre tall towers of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge. It was opened in 1936 and the complex of bridges consists of this western section (officially called Willie L. Brown Jr. Bridge), which connects downtown SF to Yerba Buena Island (YBI) and an eastern section between YBI and Oakland (not in the picture), spanning the entire San Francisco Bay.

I hope this photo brings some extra love to the new year and I’d like to wish you all a Happy and Prosperous 2018.
