Photographer's Note

This photo was taken from the pier at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. I took quite a few photos in hopes of catching the beach ball in the air, and finally caught it just right. If you look close next to the cliff, you will see surfers waiting for waves. The sun was on its way down and we were headed to have dinner on the pier. I was being picked on for waiting for the right photo to take, because everyone was hungry and it was my turn to buy dinner. It’s funny what you can make people do when you’re the one buying dinner. I hope you enjoy this photo and find yourself dreaming about being at the beach and acting like a kid again.

The family-operated Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk celebrated its Centennial in 2007. One of the last of the classic seaside amusement parks in the United States, the Boardwalk is considered the best seaside amusement park in the world.

Hi Buddy,
What a lovely beach with planty of people enjoying wenderful weather. I would love to walking on the beach. Oh!!! I need vacation. Wonderful composition and great vertical format. Fabulous colors, sharpness, clarity, POV and depth of field great too. Perfectly well done. Thanks for sharing.

You chose a very well angle with the wide and white line on the beach.
Excellent depth and perspective with the beach as subject.

What a lovely beach, a lot more touristic than your previous seascapes, but I like the dynamism alot. The photo is composed really well, the diagonal line of the tide coming straight out of the left foreground corner. This naturally leads the eye into the rest of the frame. A great Point of View with good sharpness and depth.

I like the POV taken here, as the beach curve into the sea, kids and people playing on the beautiful flat water's surface, and the sandy sea-shore.
