Photographer's Note

I was out and about looking for something new to shoot some 90 km south of Samarkand. Here's a strange 30 m high building that caught my eye - the 13th century Dorussiadat Mausoleum being one of many prominent landmarks in this charming town, a world heritage site sitting at the foothills of Zerafshan mountains.

The late afternoon sky minus the promising sunlight was rather gloomy somehow echoing one of those opening scenes in horror movies. Admit it, combination between the mystery architecture, the gradual fall-off in light and the flocks give the creeps that's always associated with death.

A different perspective from my usual shots turning gloomy into spooky.......
