Sunrise on Rysy.

The peak is located in the central part of High Tatras ,on the borderline between Poland and Slovakia. Rysy has got 3 summits: middle summit (2503) ,the highest one, south-eastern summit(2473) and north-western summit of Rysy(2499m) is the highest point of Poland.
Rysy is the highest peak of Tatras accessible by marked route what explains its great popularity during summer season.

The best base for all those who want to climb the highest peak of Poland is Morskie Oko lake chalet. Route Morskie Oko chalet (1410) - Rysy(2499) is 1100 m of height difference and it takes 3 1/2 h (red marks). You can also enter from the Slovak side. Route Popradske Lake(1494) -Rysy(2499) is 1000 m of height difference and it takes3 h (blue and red marks).

In 1899 Rysy peak was ascended by Nobel Prize Winner - Maria Sklodowska-Curie with husband, in years 1913-14 Vladimir Lenin was there.
