Photographer's Note

See the laundry hang out over the channels in Venice, between a house and the other, is quite common, but it's not always easy to find a housewife so ordered that hangs out the laundry only one color at a time!

Vedere il bucato a Venezia steso sopra i canali, tra una casa e l'altra, è abbastanza comune, ma non è sempre facile trovare una massaia così ordinata che stende il bucato solo un colore per volta!

Eheheh.si vede che il bucato te lo fa tua moglie,i bianchi coi bianchi ed i colorati con i colorati...eehehe...pero' in quella casa spingono forte,anche le lenzuola rosse,che kitch! Dear Paolo,
I am of the opinion that you should had knocked at the door and met that particular lady/housewive with a greetings from you in the shape of this beautiful shot. She would love this compo.
What an eye you have got, I like your observation, the POV and undoubtly the way to composed the shot. Were you in the boat or standing firmly on a ground?

Hello Paolo - The orange items on the wash-line are real eye catchers! I like the vertical composition, the washing adds really good depth to the shot and makes a lovely subject in this quiet canal view. Beautifully managed light and very good detail. Warm regards Rosemary

Your vertical format was perfect to capture the details of the narrow canal and the immense height of its building surrounds. You have dealt very well with the contrasts of light and shade, painting each area with delightfully sharp deatils.
There is an irresistible guide, with an end focus and the mystery of the titled details to find. What more could we ask!!

Very nice capture of a lesser known (or unknown) canal in Venice with beautiful and bright reflections and the whole in an attractive composition.
Someone who lives there, surely likes red ... and red only :)
That laundry gives the picture a humorous accent.

che fortuna passare dal canale il giorno del bucato con questa bellissima combinazione di colori. I bucati e le barche offrono grande profondit`a e la prospettiva `e altretanto stupenda. Buonissima e molto efficace la gestione della luce dolce, lucidissimi e gradevoli i riflessi. La chiarezza `e tanto piacevole ed i colori naturali con un' ottima intensit`a. Questo è il tipo di composizione che si associa immediatamente con l'Italia. Mi piace questa foto habitat tipici molto popolari. Il punto di vista e l'inquadratura sono scelti ad arte. luce, i colori, la nitidezza e la profondità sono eccellenti. Bravo.

Dobro vece.
Bio sam u Veneciju kao mladic, ostala mi je u lepom secanju.
Lep pogled na kanal sa camcima, kuce i ves na konopcima, dobra kompozicija.
Dobra ostrina snimka, kontrast, perspektiva i prikaz lepim bojama.
Dobra ideja za susenje vesa.

Very nice captured of a square in famous historical city Venice. To live at houses in the water is very interesting and a way-out life style. Reflection of buildings in water street is also beautiful. Excellent presentation and composition.

I air dry my laundry also, it saves money on electricity, but we don't have tall buildings to string clothes lines. Very nice capture of the daily life and one don't see this image in promotional brochures for the famous Venice canals. Good dof with nice details and wonderful colors. Well done, tfs.

This is a great photo and very exeptional from the usual Venice photos,the laundry is showing that theres actually normal human beeings living there,not only tourist and other foreigners :+]],without the laundry

fascinating the view of this part of Venetian canal with the laundry to be hang up from the ropes between the houses.I like this spectacular sight with the red clothes to are dried contrasting perfect with the blue of the sky as the other colours of the image.

La foto non indica a quale palazzo attribuire il filo ...ma sicuramente andranno di perfetto accordo e "sintonia"

Molto bella questa foto. Ciò che fa l'originalità è ovviamente gli multipli allineamenti di biancheria con, in più, forme ben identificabili sulla prima linea. Non c'è presenza umana ma la biancheria è un buon testimone della loro presenza vicina.
Superba luce. Impressionante l'altezza delle case. Hai molto ben gestito la distorsione.
Io avrei troppo paura di mettere la mia biancheria cosi. Di perdere la mia mutandine male agganciata, che cada e atterra su un gondoliere e provoca un incidente... :)) Magari ho guardato troppo il cinema italiano ! ;)
