The Gentlemen

On to the north Riverwalk of the Chicago River between Wabash Ave and State Street, in front of Mies van der Rohe's last skyscraper, the iconic IBM Building, you can find a group of 12 Gentlemen, standing here together since 2015.

"The Gentlemen Statues".

The statue was designed by the Taiwanese sculptor Ju Ming.
Ju Ming was trained as a woodcarver, but he also developed skills to work with other materials. Nevertheless, the origins of chopping in wood can easily be found in his style.
The 12 Gentlemen are made in bronze and designed in an angular, minimalistic style that is characteristic of Ju Ming's style.
The Gentlemen radiate a friendly humorous atmosphere and invite you to take a photo with them.
The three photos of today are examples of this.
