Photographer's Note

Montana is known by it's nickname, "Big Sky Country". I've wondered why and I think I know why it seems to be indeed "Big Sky Country". The highways you see tend to be on the ridges of the hills and mountains or they are elevated in the valleys. They do this to keep the blowing snow off the roads in the winter. Because of the roads position the skies seem to have a very broad expanse.
