Photographer's Note

In the midst of the cold winter months, looking back at a photo of Skyline Drive that I took back in the fall keeps me thinking of warmer days ahead.

Skyline Drive, a 105-mile road that winds along the crest of the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia, provides vistas of the spectacular landscape to east and west. The park holds more than 500 miles of trails, including 101 miles of the Appalachian Trail.

Color auto-leveled, and cropped with The Gimp.
