Photographer’s Note
For some reason, I wanted a picture of the moonrise over the pier, but the moon came up late, and what wasn't obscured by clouds was overexposed. I turned to this scene of houses, palm trees, artificial light, and water instead. The overexposed light on the water looks like molten gold in a crucible.
ETA: Some of the lights on both sides cloned out.
