Photographer's Note

We were delayed in leaving Juneau, which gave me the opportunity to capture a few shots of the city at sunset from the Aft Deck.

Even though it's the capital of Alaska, there are no roads to Juneau; all access is by air or water. Locals tell me politicians have been known to resent this, because whenever they visit they face the possiblity of having to extend their stay due to weather. Who wouldn't want a few extra days in the mountains by the ocean?

Unsharp mask and adjusted contrast.
NB It occurs to me that I could use this as "Country Border" in The Impossible Hunt, since the ship sails under the flag of The Netherlands. There's plenty of time, however, so I'll see if I can do better.
