Photographer's Note

Petersburg is a Norweigan fishing village on Mitkof Island with no cruise ship access so it had a real small town feel about it although it had just survived a big influx of tourists for the Little Norway Festival. The festival crew were waiting to board the ferry on which we arrived. The Cold Storage had the best smoked salmon I’ve ever eaten. Their halibut bites were great too.

There was a house for sale on this slough for $110K. It looked like it needed a lot of work, but it was right in the business district with direct access to the harbor when the tide was in and had room for RV parking.
