Somewhere in Arizona some years back. A scan from a slide. I hope to have something more up to date in a few weeks time.

Hi Phil. Excellent capture, I love the minimalist and stark nature of the scene. This goes well with the bold colours and balanced composition. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Have a good Sunday, Paul.

Hi Phil. The title does justice to this image as the presence of the rock formation confirms its fight (and temporary victory) against Time, since its actually surrounded by its crumbled larger self. marvelous colours, definition and light. Nothing there to distract the mind from the truism about time and decay.Regards. Klaudio.

'Not Sure'... I don't think I've been there! ;D
Typical wild west scenery with the huge butte emphasised by your low POV. Talking it from this angle also allowed you to include the mesa in the background so the shot is nicely balanced.

Hi Phil
A nice composition having the rock rising as the eye discovers the image, it's not as crisp as our modern digital images but acceptable in quality.
Have a nice day JY

Hello Phil! Love your "not sure" place, I have this sometimes too when I hang over a picture not sure where it was. You are doing well with your scans, this looks like taken yesterday. Very good quality. Beautiful sky of course, whatelse can you expect from Arizona :)))) Okay this year we had a lot of clouds but this was further up in Utah. Obviously they had more rain than normal but it gave interesting skies so I won't complain too much. Have a great week, Barbara.

Hi Phil,
The vary shades of gold to the richly textured foreground cliffs is beautifully complimented by the cloudless blue desert sky.
Excellent scan quality.

Hello Phil,
Good basic image of the American West, a butte surrounded by eroding land.
Good job,
Ray
PS: I have been writing journal notes and digital labels to help me otherwise I am at lost later to define what the heck the photo is.

HI Phil,
The erosion is still sculpting the structure slowly. Very sharp details and great exposure. I like the colours and the point of view. The textures are quite interesting. Very good scan!
Best regards
Denis!

Hi Phil,
Great framing of the rock formation against the sky. The detail in the grooves leading up to the rock is important detail.
Looks a bit like the Virgin River Canyon to me?

Bonsoir,
belle photo de cette tour formée non par l' homme mais par l' érosion de l' eau, du vent et du temp.
Jolies couleurs, bon Pov.
Les autres constructions érosives dans le fond donne de la profondeur a votre photo.
Amitiés Thomas.

Hello Phil,
A very typical of the "Wild West" I only know from photographs and films.
Imposing such a large rock that stands proud at the sky.
Excellent outcome of the scanner, has a very good quality.
Best wishes,
Charo
