Photographer’s Note
Day 2, late morning.
As we were getting closer to the bottom of the canyon, it seemed every step we descended, the clouds got thicker. By the time we reach the Bright Angel Campground the sun was gone. After setting up our tent, it started to rain and there were lighting and thunder in the near distance. It seems to be a very common weather pattern in the summer here at Grand Canyon. This is where the clouds get together in the afternoon to make some noise and discharge. Fortunately, it rained only for a short time, we were able to go to the river and relax.

Hi Way
The sky is incredible despite one or 2 slightly overexposed clouds. The constrast with the multicoloured land is magnificent. Like the wide-angle too.

Hi Way,
You certainly took advantage of this amazing sky allowing it to star in the 2/3rd's position; yet anchoring it nicely with good canyon detail and a strong diagonal in the foreground. Color and detail is outstanding throughout as is typical for your work. Glad you got to enjoy the river.

Hi Way
Nice 3D landscape because of the great depth, the wide angle dynamics and the clouds adding to it, for sure Clint Eastwood will appear soon on his horse ;-)

Hi Way, these cloud formations are so spectacular, I'm really learning to appreciate just how they can really make the photo. And combined with this magnificent landscape, I can't think of a better composition. You've done an amazing job here Way, congratulations once again. Have a great week, Lisa.

Hi Way,
Those clouds really are on the main role here, against deep blue polarized sky. I also like this viewpoint from a lower level as most photos of Grand Canyon are from top down.

Not many people post the Grand Canyon from down at this level. It is wonderful to see the typical rock formations from a different angle. The clouds are fantastic and really add a lot to the image.

Dear Way! Now it is me to catch up, all these wonderful posts, I do not know where to begin so I took Day 2. This is an unusual view of the Canyon as most stay up at the rim, actually I have never seen it this way. I was not aware that it has tent sites, what a great way to spend the night, just in a little tent but maybe also scary if there is thunder in the air which is almost always the case during summer - I guess. Wondeful natural colors in this one with an exciting sky, the clouds seem to float towards us, something that I always like. Great shot, perfect work!!! I have not sorted out my Merano pictures yet but some seem to be fairly good but I just had a very quick look. It is a nice area but too many tourists for my taste and actually I hardly ever make hotel vacations although the Tirolians are famous for their hospitality which is very very true. Oh anyway, have a wonderful day, Barbara.

Hi, Way. What a fantastic sky with those heavy clouds decorating it. Even the Grand Canyon looks small under it. The contrast with the vegetation and the pastel rocks is well marked and makes the two parts of the picture clearly identifiable. Excellent might management.
Have a nice day,
Philippe

Sabaidie Way
May not be as spectacular as the earlier post, but the clouds are simply amazing. The sharpness, depth and clarity is amazing as we can see the rock formations even at the horizon quite clearly. Must have to say that this is quite an unusual and unique POV of showing the Grand Canyon and from the low POV, we can appreciate the colours of the rock formations, perhaps, even better. Fine work!
Best Regards

Hello Way,
Nothing much makes a better motif than a summer sky at its best!
The wonderful blue background, the fluffy clouds in different shades of white to grey...
The trick with cloud photography is to avoid OE and to capture the finer details - like you do here!
