Photographer’s Note
I would love to have a nickel for everyone who has had their picture taken here. Even Ansel Adams took one of his memorable photos of the mittens through these two rocks in B&W of course. Yours truly took a few and yes I put the horizon in the middle. I like the way the wide angle accentuated the sky.
I loaned my tripod to a fellow commercial photographer who was playing around with a wooden pin hole camera that used polaroid film. I would love to see what he printed from his shots. Unfortunately someone stole his tripod and second pinhole camera the day before when he ran back to his car to get more film.

Hi Phil,
A popular vantage point seeing such beautiful scenery. Like the warm orange hues with human silhouettes placements on the foreground.
Such incident do happen in popular places when photographers bring in their gears and these 'opportunists' just snatch and get away really fast. So beware not leaving your camera and stuff unattended just to be sure.

Nice shot Phil;
I'm guessing you used a circular polariser- or were the rocks bright enough to bring down the exposure and allow for the clouds to 'pop'? They look great!
Considering what appears to have been an extremely 'contrasty' day- I think you managed the shot quite well as you still managed to maintain some detail in the shadows. I'm just hoping those peoples portrait doesn't have that guys shadow in it! hahaha
Cheers,
- Dan

Hello Phil,
It is fabulous this photograph, the use of the wide-angle lens to the maximum gives such a feeling of space… Traditional landscape of the American West but here I am filled with wonder by such of beauty and this color, undoubtedly use of polarizing. Perfect exposure and of the shades which are an asset in the image to give even more depth to the landscape. Cheer and thank you Phil.
With all my friendships and with soon,

Yes we all have this view tucked away somewhere. If you are wanting a pure landscape shot those poseurs are a real nuisance and frankly very selfish when they stay there just for the hell of it. However you took advantage and produced a humorous image.

Hello Phil,
Rich color tone and interesting shot!
It draws out a good effect on the contrast between deep blue sky with clouds and red ground, I think. And, as for a long shadow, it is understood that the light on the day is strong. Here is one of the places where I want to go some time.

Hello Phil
Excellent photo of the mittens - not very conventional! The chief photographer's pose is pretty funny. The long shadows and the dramatic clouds all seem to radiate from one of the mittens. Tfs, Marlene

Phil, this is a really fine shot. The saturated warm colors are to my taste and the fg shadows make the shot have a story to it. Great work and a fine composition.

Hey, Phil...
even with the tourists in it, that's a fine shot. Great saturation, mad good color, and I love that wide view with such a feeling of space. With a lot of cloning you might have been able to get rid of them, but the people make this a pretty funny shot. I really like it. Many thanks and warm regards,
Shelly

Hi Phil,
Little more needs to be said - I love this real life action shot, but I am also impressed with the rich colors, awesome contrasts, and the long shadows in the foreground. A great capture and TFS. Gerald

Hi Phil,
The scene is beautiful and captured beautifully. The long silhouettes and the single photographer add an interesting twist that shows the reality of such popular places. I'm always impressed when someone takes an obstacle and makes it work.

Hi Phil,
Hard to take a picture without people I guess. But you made a good use of them, their, or actually your shades make a funny effect and you made an interesting story out of it.
I see I have to watch out for my tripod there (I plan my trip there in about a month), I wouldn't expect that to happen on such place.
Great light. Fantastic work,
TFS

Hello Phil,
What an amazing shot. I love the colours and the light especially. Your shot is a bit different than the usual with the people in it and I love that about this shot. Great sky as well. Excellent work!

Yeahh Phil!
Usually, no one on the picture, only the rocks. Very long shadows (including yours) and the photographer attitide at right lead the look on the landscape, and persons pictured (They can say I was there!)

Hi Phil,
Beautiful shot of the happy toruist posing on the golden rocks.
Beautiful sky full of dramatic clouds give this one great depth.

Hi Phil.
Andy you get a lot less distortion with a central horizon with such a wide angle lens too. Nice light and colours and as you say great sky. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Have a good weekend, Paul.

Hello Phil! You made excellent use of something that can hardly be avoided at places as popular as Monument Valley when you stand in each other's way. And yet I love it and it does not bother me one minute that other tourists stand and sit around, not at all. I find it quite inspring sometimes to share the same feelings with others, I mean not always but sometimes. Very nice mood, wonderful colors, love the clouds and how they seem to be in motion. Funny also the photographer, I hope he got the couple right :))) Happy weekend, Barbara.
