Photographer’s Note
My Navajo guide suggested we take a side trip into Owl Canyon to which I replied "Yes but I don't have my telephoto lens" He had a 100-300 that someone had left in Antelope Canyon a few weeks back so this is not quite as sharp as I would have liked. I zoomed in and cropped this a bit as well. There were two owls out that afternoon and one of them flew over us. Its wingspan must have been about 3 ft (1m). Unfortunately we also came across a dead owl at the mouth of the canyon. I guess it was shot for no reason other than it was a handy target for some moron with a rifle.

Hi Phil,
Wonderful capture of this silent flyer.
The red canyon backdrop really makes this one special.
Love those big eyes.

Hello Phil,
I would these lovely owl perhaps make bigger through more cropping.
But I find your choice absolutely not bad.
Also the colours are superb, a splendid presentation of you.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice evening,
John.

Hi Phil.
Beautiful bird, shame you didn’t have your own lens with you but any photo is better than the alternative and at least it was canon mount. Good detail and colours and nice “pose”. Thanks for sharing.
Have a good week, Paul.
