Grand Canyon from South Rim Photo

Photographer’s Note

I think this is Kolb art studio at left, with a few tourists admiring the view, to add scale. If not, I'll edit later. That's the Colorado River over 1 mile below. This section of the South Rim is around 7,000 feet above sea level. Clarity was good on the day I went. There are air quality measuring devices & photos on plaques that show you what the view should look like, depending on the amount of suspended dust particles & smoke in the air.

Even though framed horizontally we get the vertigo feeling watching this small house overlook the void, you have come pretty close to the cliff edge, nice image with superb colors

Hi Chris,

This is an impressive scenery. The point of view leads my eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the composition. It is also alllowing me to see the details and colors of this area of the Grand Canyon. The quality of the light is enhancing the different tints of colors of the scenery. Have a nice day.

Yes, clarity is exceptional here, and you have a good POV, allowing to admire the whole depth of the canyon.

Having just been here recently, and I still enjoy seeing photo of this place over and over and still not get enough of it, especially on of good quality. This is also very well composed with a good POV. The different layers of rock at various distance give a great sense of depth and perspective. Grat sharpness and good clarity, and beautiful and natural colors.

c'est grandiose bien évidemment et ta photo rend bien le fait que ce site soit classé comme une des merveilles naturelles du monde.

Yes, the clarity is excellent and the photo is quite outstanding. I've never seen this canyon from this particular pov and I like how you show both rims and the river below. This gives a very good depth to the image which has a strong look of tridimensionality. The afternoon light gave you such lovely warm colours - my favourites!

I was yesterday on a exposition here in Flanders, about the Grand Canyons, with a lot pictures, all 1m x 60cm.
Three part picture through the nice different colours
The different layers of rock at various distance give a great sense of depth and perspective.
Sharpness and clarity are superb.
Great perspective and excellent realisation, pleasant for look at.
