Art at The Music Concourse

The part of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco that featured most prominently in my previous photo was the Music Concourse, which was completed in 1900. Here’s a photo from ground level. There was a small art fair around the fountain in the centre of the oval-shapes concourse, which is located between the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences. The background shows a monument dedicated to Francis Scott Key, American lawyer, author, and amateur poet, who wrote the American national anthem, The Star Spangled Banner.

You’ll find another photo with the fountain at the Music Concourse in the WS, which also features the de Young Museum, including the tower from which I took my previous photo.
