City Hall Symmetry

Let’s go back to the Civic Center of San Francisco and San Francisco City Hall. I could post numerous photos from different angles of this majestic building, but this is going to be the last one for now. It was taken from across Van Ness Avenue and in the small park right next to the War Memorial Opera House.

San Francisco City Hall is the seat of government for the City and Council of San Francisco. The city hall opened in 1915, when it replaced the city hall that was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. It was designed by Arthur Brown, Jr., who also designed several other building in San Francisco. The dome of the city hall is taller than the one of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C by 42 feet.
