Photographer's Note

Hello to all TE friends!
I stopped posting for a while because of school things and other stuff, but now here´s my fifth post from our USA trip 2008. It´s from Death Valley.

Death Valley is the hotest place in the US and one of the hotest of the world. It got its name from eighteen survivors of a group of thirty gold miners, who tried to take a shortcut to the californian gold-fields. Death Valley is also the lowest place in the United States, it´s 86 meters below sea level.

Despite of this, there are many plant, which get their water from underground sources. The highes temperture ever recorded was 57°C.

And just for your information: This the US 190 Highway.

Hope you like the picture,
best regards, Kris
