Breaking Boise

Gert was disappointed that I hadn’t added any photos from Freak Alley in Boise to the workshop, so here’s just one more impression. My father will have to show the rest of this outdoor gallery.

Freak Alley was established in 2002 and the murals are painted over and replaced every two years. It is located in a service alley and an adjacent parking lot, which is where this photo was taken, hence the annoying cars. More than 200 artists have contributed to the art in Freak Alley.

One of the murals, which was unfortunately partly hidden behind a car, is called Breaking Boise, it was inspired by American crime drama series Breaking Bad, whose main characters seem to be displayed as Batman and Robin here.
