Observing the public is interesting, but all the people that wants to earn some money are even more interesting.
There is a rich variation of creatures in disguise: look-a-likes, cartoon characters, naughty girls, alternative types, etcetera who wants to pose together with you for a picture in exchange of some dollars.
I will start today with a small series of KISS-figures.
KISS, the American rock band formed in New York City in January 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley. Well known for its members' face paint and stage outfits, the group rose to prominence in the mid-to-late 1970s
With their make-up and costumes, they took on the personae of comic book-style characters: The Starchild (Stanley), The Demon (Simmons), The Spaceman or Space Ace (Frehley), and The Catman (Criss).

I add the dark frame to the picture to give the posts a screen format of 1920x1080 pixels
The idea is that, if you use the links in the text, you have a full screen image of the picture with the photo in the centre of a dark screen.
This works with the browsers and screens I use, but I’m not sure that everybody will have the same result.

Hello Rob,
the 'Zorro' looks to be the same with different cloths.I like the three shot with the light and the colour management to enhance the details of her.

Hello Rob, another very interesting triptych.
Larger than life, I like the different poses of the men.Of course, once they take off their make up, they can go out onto the street and be totally anonymous!

Hello Rob,
Fortunately I was already "too old" when Kiss had their breakthrough, so I never needed to care about them or their music. In fact, I wouldn't trust any musicians who feel a need to dress and paint themselves like this. It's like they don't trust the power of their music. As for the photos it must of course be great fun to take this kind of pictures. The main photo is an "informative" triptych while the workshops are more interesting snapshots from inside the crowd. "Spaceman meets Cupido" is grotesquely funny.

Tja, wat moet je zeggen over al die volwassen kerels die hier voor aap staan in Las Vegas en er niet eens lol in hebben. Je vraagt je af hoe ze hier verzeild zijn geraakt, maar dat vragen ze zich misschien zelf ook wel af tijdens al die uren dat ze hier rondhangen. Ze zijn in ieder geval nog een interessant foto-onderwerp.

Were the Cupido ones taken in Walmart?
There is a whole series of videos on YouTube which show people dressed in the most bizarre costumes at Walmart!

I wonder how many times an ankle becomes twisted!
It takes great concentration to walk on platforms like these!

What a series of shots!
You must have been smiling from ear to ear at some of these characters!

Hello Rob,

I can spot one glaring error here as someone who lived through the 70's & 80's. There were no cell phones back then, only on the Jetsons cartoon. Now that science fiction has become a reality, people assume we have always had cell phones, but they only started to become common around 2000. The slot machines visible through the door add place and context. Tfs!

Las Vegas is well known for celebrity doubles, while it surely has lots of gigs of real stars. Cool shot of these three KISS members. My real favourite is WS1. It just is so surprising in every way.

Hello Rob, I have never heard about KISS but I am not interested in this kind of music, and less in such costumes. But what fun to see these strange personages in the streets. The most impressive are the shoes. How can the walk in them? Amsuing main triprych, funny also other pictures.

Great! Thanks a lot! I was not a fan of KISS, but I really love some their songs and their scenic action. It was just superb show on the stage. Good contribution to the rock theme on the TE!
