Photographer's Note

Weighing in at over 170,000 pounds, with a wing span of 320 feet and a tail towering over 80 feet above the ground, the Spruce Goose is HUGE. It was made mostly of wood due to war era lack of materials. It was designed by Henry Kaiser and Howard Hughes, and was officially designated the HK-1. It now resides in McMinnville Oregon at the Evergreen International Aviation air museum.
