Photographer's Note

With her pinky finger held high in the air this little girl is showing she has class, even when drinking from a straw.

Straw etiquette
A straw is a hollow cylindrical utensil used to facilitate consumption of liquids. Operating a straw is a straightforward operation; however, complex social conventions govern its appropriate usage.
1. Straws should only be used to consume cold liquid drinks. For example, consuming soup or Jello with a straw is a faux pas.
2. It is considered crude to continue operating a straw to the point where almost no liquid remains in the drinking vessel because a "slurping" sound will be emitted.
3. Attempts to "recarbonate" a drink are frowned upon by most cultures.
4. Usage of a straw, does not justify application of the five-second rule to spilled liquids.
