Photographer's Note
This is my second shot of Mt. Rainier in Mt. Rainier National Park. This was taken on a hike in the morning near the Sunrise Visitor’s center. Again it’s 14,410ft (4392m) tall. On a day this clear you can see it from Seattle. It is 90 miles (145 km) south east of the city. That fact makes this one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the Cascade Range since it's so much closer to a large population.
What really impressed me about Mt. Rainier was how huge it was and how much it dominates the sky. It's vastly higher than the rest of the nearby mountains.
I did under-sharpen the foreground so I posted a WS with more detail.

Bonjour Stephen,
Dans un cadrage parfait et un POV bien choisi, tu présentes ces prestigieuses montagnes.
Contraste entre les coulerus chaudes de l'avant plan et froides des montagnes derrière.
Bien vu.

Hi Stephen! very nice landscape shot! The lighting/weather, colors and sharpness are excellent! Your low shooting angle makes the mountain more intimidating! Such a very peaceful and calm environment here! Great work! rgds.

Beautiful landscape, well captured on chip. The saturated colors are great, and the detail in the snow/ice is well preserved. If it was my shot I would have been tempted to crop left, right and top, in order to reduce the amount of sky and emphasize the mountain.By the way, I wouldn't have recognized it as Rainier from this perspective.

Good rule of thirds, great color in this field which compliments the deep blue sky. I love the wisp of clouds that seem to dance over Mt Rainer!. Thos alpine trees on the right really add a nice touch to the scene and the mountain is an absloute glory to see from this angle. I know you were very elated to take this and many others to follow! A real pleasure to see Mt Inguanti

Hi Stephen,
The fact that the mountains are sandwiched between two complimentary colours makes it even more impressive and distinct. I love the playful clouds as it gives the air of freedom and peace and this mood is echoed by the swaying grass in the foreground. Excellent shot and wonderfully seen. Have a nice day.

Wow - this has the feel of a painting, not a photo! Huge swathes of pure color, golden grass, icy white mountain, and crisp blue sky - this is simple yet well proportioned and gorgeous to look at. Superb!

Hi Stephen,
this great vulcano in a very nice landscape view composition, several horizontal areas, yellow-brown, green, white, blue, everything seems in order, but can change at any moment! Great sharpness and clearness. I like to see the rivers of lava on the sourface of the mountain.
Best regards, Jaume

Ah! The awaited Mt Rainier shot. I enjoy seeing this view of it as it was hiding when we were at Sunset. All my best photos were taken at Paradise, when we had perfect conditions as you had here. Which hike were you on? I've still got the leaflet so I can look it up.
I like the choice you made to include the meadow in the foreground. Just look at those wisps of cloud; one of them has echoed the shape of "the mountain"
Well done

Hi Mr. Steve, This is an impressive view of the glacier. I like the different layers of the view here. You have the brown foreground and the blue sky to contrast the glacier with forest and the sharp rock formation. A very well composed picture with nice PoV and depth. Well done.

Hi Steve. A beautiful, almost painterly, quality you got to this crisp scene from the mountains. The light does a fine job of accentuating the detail and also the exposure is well balanced to not blow any of the whites on Mt Rainier. Nice for me to see the mountain, when I was in the area in 2002 it was one of the rainier (haha) days and I couldn't see anything. To be quite honest, at f/22 I would have expected a tad more texture and detail on the foreground grass, but I can also imagine that some detail might have been lost when downsizing this to TE specs. Nice one.

Hi Stephen,
quelle photo !!!
Bravo

Hi Stephen,
Impressive landscape indeed. The picture has nice depth and I like how the foreground fade away in the walley, while the mountian aroses from it. Soft focuse is perfect here, better than in WS.
Thanks,

Hi Stephen,
A lovely shot of this interesting mountain terrain. The golden meadow is seen in great contrast to the snowy peak and blue sky, and the smidge of trees balance and neatly separate the foreground. I much prefer this to the WS, as the softer look to the meadow is much more artistic and pleasing to the eye. You even managed an enhancing dash of colour in the right foreground. A great shot, Steve.

Hi Steve,
I really like the way you've framed this colossal mountain between the warm gold of the grass and the bight blu of the sky. For me the whispy clouds add magic to the photo. This is stunning, I like the sharpened version even more.
