Photographer's Note

Seattle Skyline

We actually intended to go up the Space Needle on our first day in Seattle, but the queues were way too long and therefore we decided to visit one of the other observation decks in the city.

This photo was taken from the 73rd floor of the tallest tower in town, Columbia Center (286 metres). We are looking in a northerly direction and most of downtown Seattle can be seen here, including the Space Needle. The second and third tallest tower are also in the photo, 1201 Third Avenue on the left and Two Union Square on the right hand side respectively. The lake in the right hand side background is Lake Union, the water on the right is Puget Sound.
