Glass Balls in a Boat

You may already be familiar with this photo in case you clicked on the workshop I added to my previous post, but I actually decided to upgrade it to a main post now as well. It’s one of the glass artworks on display at the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit at the Seattle Center.

I couldn’t find much information about this particular piece of art until I found the guide we got during our visit, which told me this room is called Ikebana and Float Boat. It features two boats, one filled with glass balls, the other with balls and flower-like glass. You can see the former here. You can find a short recording of Dale Chihuly and a Boston museum director Gerry Ward talking about the artwork on the website of Chihuly Garden and Glass.
