[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
It was one of these afternoons when the heat was becoming really heavy and doing the laundry felt like being the right thing to do. The fan was going on high speed above our heads adding a cool pleasant breeze. The photo was the view you get from the laundry, and when the machine was running on full power I started to discover the neighbourhood but I also returned pretty fast hiding from the sun. There are certain smells that immediately connect you to a country. For me it is Bounce when it comes to the States … It is these little white tissues that you throw into the dryer that makes your laundry fluffy adding a fresh touch to your cloth. I love the atmosphere of a laundry, listening what other people talk, what they wear – and of course the smell of Bounce :)

I chose this picture for different reasons, also because it reminded me of a photo Stan Obert has done some time ago Lunar Landscape. He obviously loves to watch the moon and the stars, but he can also get very loud when it comes to baseball :) And you might discover his excellent photo work when exploring Denver. Look out, open your eyes! This is my way to thank the Obert’s for giving us a deeper inside look into their lives and we found this was a special treat in many ways and has widened our horizons once more, and this is why we travel, isn’t it, beyond State Parks and National Forests, Down Town shopping or museum visits … them too but not only!

Bonsoir Barbara
jolie photo ! j'aime bien les nuages dans le ciel et le graphisme de cette fresque. Bon choix de cadrage pour nous présenter cet ensemble;

Ah, there you are, finally... he he.
Top Notch new entry, dear Barbara!
A Symphony in Blue from wonderful Colorado... and I KNOW that BLUE, therefore I can tell you this is good, VERY GOOD!
Love the way you framed this composition featuring great overall balance annex definition, and a superb angle.
Thanks for sharing, I'll be really looking forward to what's coming up next.
Have a great evening, I'll see you soon.
Ciao,
Fulvio.

Hi Barbara,
Interesting note that reminds me that long, long time ago, I used to go to the laundry back in London. Fun at the beginning but I ended up hating it! But it's totally true what you say about the atmosphere.
Your image is an interesting composition with a title to match. Love the colours.
Regards,
Maria

Hi Barbara,
a very interesting note and a stunning photo, a composition in the best spirit of TE. Seems to me that we like to live in a world of dreams and illusions.
TfS
and best regards

Hallo Barbara,
Back home again?
I drove here 14 years ago, seems like a lifetime when i look back on my life. I didn't find the place interesting, so there was only a short stop. Can't recall this site, and aaking myself right now, was it already there that time?
Whatever, you found something that is not directly related to the US, that's big plus..!!!
Regards, Henk

Hello Barbara,
I love this kind of street art! This one seems that fits so well with inviroment, especially with this amazing sky.
Very well composed and well presented with your interesting note!

Many wishes,
Thomas

Hi Barbara,
Ah here they come the US pics, a bit unexpected this one for a start but since you were at ground level you possibly had the need to somehow relate to the skies ;-)
And as I can see it seems the sky is offering great photo potential in terms of clouds. Did you get my email ?
Wish you a wonderful week end in sunny ... erh well at least hope so, Switzerland, where I'll be too on sunday.

Hello,

Génial cette image, le couleurs sont superbe, il y a des petite étoiles sur le mur qui rapelle la vision du ciel, et il y a un mangigique ciel, et des bleus différent, superbe.

Bravo et amitiés

Nicou

Hi Barbara
What a unique wall mural. I like the way the lamp post has been painted to blend into the mural. Nicely done.

Hi Barbara,
Stupid me - was absent for a while and now followed a
link to your post and upon opening haven't realised this
one was taken in the US - it was while I was reading
your note...
The image is amazing as to me it looks like the girl and
her telescope are half-burried in the ground, between you
and the blue-painted building! LOL!!! What an optical
illusion.
Also, I've noticed how blue colour prevails in your photos - well, in at least last 10-ish.
Great one!
Robi

Barbara,
Interest post, but your note explain very well your intention. I myself is a painter, I can surely appreciation this kind of image. I have never painted any thing of this size but admire people who do. I like your presentation of it with the overall view including some of the nature and beautiful open sky, continuing the sky where the painting endes. Beautiful cloud and blue sky. Lovely combination of painting and nature. Thanks Barbara.

Hello Barbara, Nice view from the laundry, something different & interesting. They have turned what could have been an ugly brick wall in a work of art.
Well captured.
Thanks
Santo
PS. enjoyed your note.

Hi Barbara!

Very impressive and very original photo! Great idea and realisation, excellent framing and composition, perfect light managment! Congratulations!

Hercules

Whimsical and charming, I am glad you added your detailed note because that thought of the over-perfumed American culture norm is something I often wonder about, what must foreigners think?! I admit, I do use a generic drug store version but alas, my neighborhood does not allow us to use clothes lines outdoors to dry our clothes.

Meanwhile, the shot is well done with the focal point off center yet the bit of urbanism with the street light dead center :)

Regards,
Kathy

hey Barbara :)
yes, this is pretty much how all of as look at the near and far places - at the end of a more or less sophisticated or smaller/bigger "camera". I like a lot how the polarised sky matches the colours of the wall painting, and judging from the clouds it was one of those days when urge to discover the world is stronger than usual. great fun shot :)

regards,
Kristine

This is something that does not fit my concept of graffiti. My name for this is simply “Mural painting” which I really like. It changes from a plain and unpleasant wall to something good to the eyes. Now, waiting until they start painting all over their anger against society. It will be ugly!
You have here a nice POV and very good natural colours. Well done.

Hallo Barbara!
Gut gemacht!
Grüße aus Deutschland,
Jonas

This one is so well seen and captured, Barbara. The graffiti and the sky seems so good together that one seems to blend into the other giving a surreal feel.It is very nicely exposed to exploit this similarity. regards kevin

Hi, Barbara!
Very nice shot, I like very much. Light and sky are fantastic.

Renzo

Hi Barbara,
A very good idea to use this wall like this.
I am surprised to see that the street lamps was also painted :-)

There is something about the scale here. You chose the right place, the right distance to have strange and maximum impact. Strange and poetic. I do like that.
Inspired.

Super, I like a lot , a composition is interesting, out of reality, colours are super, and sharpeness and clouds perfect
