Photographer’s Note
Most of you probably recognize the Brooklyn Bridge already, but this point of view is different from the one usually taken in the bay at the foot of the bridge.
It's actually shot from Manhattan Bridge near the Brooklyn side. Getting a shot from this point of view isn't easy for two reasons:
1.- First, there are very frequent trains coming from both sides, creating strong vibrations and preventing from getting a sharp image on long exposure.
2.- There is a tight fence all across the bridge where the lens can barely fit through a hole and when combined with the tripod, it's getting tight and awkward.
But anyway, throughout many attempts, this one came out sharp and sturdy.

It sounds like a lot of effort but the result makes all that worthwhile. The pink colours of evening/morning are tinting the buildings making them appear purple and creating an attractive combination. The river has the 'silk appeal' thanks to the slow shutter and the twinkling lights add more attraction to the scene. I get a feeling of tilt, but it could be the river is showing a slight perspective diagonal. All-in-all a good shot

Hi Andre,
Congratulations. It is a perfect work. Very original POV indeed, and good timing for the "pink hour".
Perfect performance especially taking into account the conditions.
I am jealous,

Salut André,
très belle cette heure rose! C'est vrai que j'ai une sensation de léger tilt aussi mais ça peut être le jeu de perspectives...

Excellent result despite despite difficult shooting conditions. Unusual and interesting color of the sky.
I can imagine how difficult it was to squeeze lens through the hole, keep tripod stable and compose the image at the same time. For lighter camera something like Gorillapod attached to the fence could be useful in such situation, but I guess in this case your camera was too heavy.

Hello André,
Réellement superbe ! Quelle lumière ici !
Les illuminations de la ville forment une constellation de point lumineux des plus esthétique ! Elles s'accordent parfaitement à ce ciel splendide. Quelle skyline !

Bonjour André,
I have some shots of Brooklin bridge but I must confess those are from the regular poinf of view...that one in the other side. The light you get here is fantastic. I wish I could have such great photo in my gallery. Wonderful!

Yves.

hi Andre
excellent shot, no matter how many images people take, NYC always looks great and different. I love the POV and the pinkish tint of the low sun. It reminds me those pictures they sell with back light.
really excellent job
