Corel Pink Sand Dunes, a photo from Utah, Ouest

Photographer's Note

About an hours drive south from Zion National Park in Utah there is a state park called Coral Pink Sand Dunes. Its an interesting place where the wind has blown this pink colored sand from 30 miles away to this location. I waited until the afternoon sunshine set low enough to create these wonderful shadows. Even though there is the slightest breeze the sand is constantly moving creating these wind ripples as you can see in the lower part of the frame. Enjoy.

Fine diagonal composition! Excellent contrast!!! I like the sand structure, impressive sharpness and good saturation. It reminds me photos from Arizona's Desert.

Hello Paul! This is a wonderful photo of Coral Pink Sand Dunes. Great contrast and the straight diagonal line between the contrasting areas adds to the style and composition in the pictue. I have driven by this park but usually on the way to somewhere else. Next time I am going to make the side trip becuase it looks like a very interesting place.

I was there last November and indeed have uploaded some pictures of the dunes. It is not a place very frequently visited. You have a great capture here. The sharp diagonal line of the dune edge contrasts beautifully with those lovely ripples. The plain deep blue sky is perfect. The dunes have interesting natural geometry. Excellent!

This dunes evokes a lucid picture of pure brilliance and magic of the sun kissed desert. The blue sky and shadows contrast well with the colour of the sand and the ridges provide a strong lead-in diagonal lines. Love the rich warm colour, shapes and depth and the shadows give it real form and texture, but I see it as more of an abstract. This is a stunning capture and expertly composed too. Hi Paul,
in this simple and direct image you have caught the great beauty of the dunes, with its pretty geometry, its golden tonalities, the drawings created by the wind on the sand, and the fantastic effect of the light and the shades on the ensemble.
The diagonal of the edge divides the picture very elegantly.

I am always amazed by these desert landscapes here in the USA. Your composition is really beautiful. I like the balance between the light and the shadows. The patterns and shapes made by the sand dunes are wonderful, and so is the blue sky. A very elegant and interesting photo.
