Photographer's Note

This is Mel's Diner at Universal Studios Orlando.

From what I read, this 50's style themed fast food restaurant was modeled after one from the movie, "American Graffiti."

I really liked the light the neon was giving off and a warm rain had just fallen adding to the look of the photo. Sadly I was stuck out in that rain without a jacket after a long day.

As for the food there, we did try it and I have to say it wasn't anything too special. Acceptable at best when it comes to fast food. The food was a bit pricey for fast food, but acceptable considering we were at a theme park where everything was overpriced. What was lacking was service. It was more of a cafeteria style, walk up and order kind of place. Far from the style of service I can only imagine you would have received in the 50's!

I would have loved to have seen some poodle skirts and to have heard the roar of a V-8. I can almost picture them when I look at this shot.

I am doing a B/W version of this. I had a hard time deciding which one to post. The colour in this one is what won me over. Was I right? Which one did you think I should have posted?
