Photographer's Note

Somewhere in Brooklyn

If I don't change my mind, I will now post a mini-series of three photos of daily life streetscapes from around New York City. Here's the first instalment, taken on the corner of Flushing Avenue and Broadway in Brooklyn.

It is basically just a quick snapshot while waiting to cross the street, which is also why I couldn't avoid including some other people waiting in the immediate foreground. As you can see, Broadway is covered by the elevated tracks of the BMT Jamaica Line (J, M and Z lines) of the New York City Subway.

The title is also a song by Bruno Mars, which I happened to hear yesterday and made me wonder if I didn't have any interesting photos from Brooklyn.

The Workshop includes a photo of the same junction, taken just seconds after this one, when people had started crossing Flushing Avenue. I didn't post that one as main picture, because of the white sky.
