Pentagon City

The next stop is the capital of the United States, Washington, D.C., although this photo was taken just outside the District of Columbia, in Arlington, Virginia. This is Pentagon City station, part of the Washington Metro. It opened in 1977 and is on both the Blue and the Yellow Lines. It is one of the busiest stations in the system. The entire Washington Metro rapid transport system includes six lines and 91 stations. It is the third–busiest rapid transport system in the U.S. after New York and Chicago. The train in the station is a Blue Line train bound for Franconia-Springfield.
